Rhonda Patrick, PhD, received her doctorate in biomedical science from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She is the founder of FoundMyFitness, providing evidence-based insights to a global audience through her website and podcast. Dr. Patrick’s focus areas include genetic influences in dietary response, micronutrients, sleep, non-pharmacological approaches to mental well-being, and the benefits of biological stressors such as exercise, heat, cold exposure, and plant phytochemicals. As an associate scientist and board member at the Fatty Acid Research Institute, she advances understanding of omega-3 fatty acids in aging and health. Her research has been published in high-impact journals like Nature Cell Biology, Experimental Gerontology, and FASEB.
Will Cole, DC, DNM, IFMCP, received his doctorate from the Southern California University of Health Sciences and postdoctorate education and training in functional medicine and clinical nutrition. He is a leading functional medicine expert who consults people worldwide via webcam, having started one of the world’s first functional medicine telehealth centers. Named one of the top 50 functional and integrative doctors in the nation, Dr. Cole specializes in clinically investigating underlying factors of chronic disease and customizing a functional medicine approach for thyroid issues, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders, and brain problems. He is also the host of the popular “The Art of Being Well” podcast and bestselling author of Ketotarian, Gut Feelings, The Inflammation Spectrum, and the New York Times bestseller Intuitive Fasting.
Anna Cabeca, DO, FACOG, received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She is a board-certified OB-GYN who has served more than 10,000 women in her private practice—and millions more through her books, online videos, and articles. With an understanding that modern medicine and time-tested natural remedies are not at odds, Dr. Cabeca is on a personal and professional mission to give proven, pragmatic health solutions to women dealing with menopausal and other health challenges so they can lead the life they want, need, and deserve.
Yousef Elyaman, MD, IFMCP, graduated from the University of Melbourne and is a board-certified internist with a cross-specialization in pediatrics. He is also one of the first functional medicine–certified practitioners worldwide. As the founder and medical director of Absolute Health, he has successfully integrated an insurance-based functional medicine approach into his practice. e is also the Medical Director for HumanN, developing science-backed supplements and educating practitioners on wellness strategies. He directs integrative and functional medicine services at The Guest House Ocala, using specialized training in psychological trauma to support holistic healing. Passionate about advancing practitioner education, Dr. Elyaman is the founder of FMP Essentials and teaching faculty for the Institute for Functional Medicine, playing a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of functional medicine leaders.
Mike Mutzel, MS, earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, and completed his Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CN. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice. In 2014, Mike published his first book, Belly Fat Effect: The Real Secret About How Your Diet, Intestinal Health, and Gut Bacteria Help You Burn Fat.
David Haase, MD, received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and is board certified in both family and integrative holistic medicine. He is the founder and CEO of MaxWell Clinic and a primary educator for mitochondrial influences on health at the Institute for Functional Medicine. He is also the creator of H.O.P.ETM. (Habitat Optimizing Plasma Exchange), an advanced therapeutic approach designed to enhance cognitive function and slow neurodegenerative decline, particularly in conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. A recognized leader in the emerging field of Systems Medicine, Dr. Haase is the bestselling author of Curiosity Heals The Human, which explores how scientific curiosity fuels breakthroughs in medical innovation.
Brandon Brock, PhD, DNP, DC, APRN, NP-C, DACNB, received his Doctorate of Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University, Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University, and Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University. He also has a post-doctoral Global Clinical Research Scholar from Harvard Medical School, highlighting his commitment to clinical excellence, research, education, and innovation. As a staff clinician at Carpathia Wellness, Dr. Brock works with patients managing various conditions, from complex neurological disorders to chronic illness to orthopedic injuries. He blends his extensive expertise with a compassionate approach to care.
