About the topic:

Aging is a privilege but one not to be taken lightly. Being an active participant over a passive spectator can improve resilience, empowerment and ability. When it comes to nutrition, the recipe for self-care is a combination of the #wealthontheshelf and supplementation that can complement ,augment and help control what one can with the eating plan. This session will address nutrition recommendations for disease prevention, management, health and well-being from head to toe with a focus on inclusion rather than emphasizing foods to exclude to create a recipe of hope rather than nope.

Learning objectives:

  • Shortfall nutrients in older adults
  • Identify nutrition strategies that emphasize consistency, diet quality and appropriate quantities
  • Specific nutrition recommendations to prevent, control and manage nutrition-related diseases and disorders
